Rare Disease Campaign I Am Number 17

1 in 17 people in Ireland will be affected by a rare disease at some stage in their lives.

The 7th February saw the launch of the I am Number 17 campaign to raise awareness of rare diseases in Ireland. Changemakers  Lucy and Janet who are living with a rare disease shared their story and told us about their hopes, dreams and aspirations in a photographic exhibition in CHQ at the launch . Minister Stephen Donolly speaking on the day said, “the campaign is an important step in raising awareness of rare diseases and the impact these conditions have on Irish society”.
