RED TIDE FOR PSPredtidepic

Prompted by a commitment to support people with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Corticobasal Degeneration, Caroline and friends have teamed up as RED TIDE FOR PSP

On Saturday 2nd July 2016 the Red Tide for PSP team will take on the 34K Sligo Camino to raise awareness and funds for PSPA Ireland.

Why take on this challenge?

“When a family member is first diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy it is bewildering but it is not until you have travelled that road do you comprehend how devastating this condition can be for those diagnosed and their families and friends. This cruel disease robs people of their ability to walk, talk, see and swallow. Frequent unexpected falls can lead to serious injury – so you are constantly on alert. The care required to manage this disease is relentless. There is no treatment and no cure. There is a lack of awareness of the existence of these conditions and this makes it difficult to get the help when you need it.”

We want to change this and feel we can do this by supporting PSPA Ireland and its members.

Red Tide for PSP are training in the West, Midlands and East coast and you can follow their training highlights using the link

The Sligo Camino is a challenging mixture of tracks, trails, forest paths and lanes in a scenic part of the Sligo Way.
