137km in 24 hours in memory of Jim McDonald  – Please Support

Elaine, Paul, Eoin and Fiona are taking on an incredible challenge to raise funds for PSPA Ireland. They are competing in the Isle of Man Parish Walk in memory of their dad. Jim was diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and fought it with great courage.

This historical walk dates back to 1852 when John Cannell of Douglas set himself a challenge to ride around the 17 parishes touching the doors of all 17 churches. He did this in approximately 15 hours. In 1960 the first of the present day races took place with 35 entrants- only 4 finished that race. To this day the completion rate is 10%. It is tough!

The Fabulous 4 along with support by the crew, Jim’s lovely wife Mary, and grand-daughter Caitlín will take on the amazing 137 km route

That is 85 Miles in 24 hours!

This is no easy feat !  This is a demanding walk which will challenge them both physically and mentally. Elaine,Paul,Eoin and Fiona have been training hard for this  137 km walk around the 17 parishes. The walk takes place on 22-23 June 2024 .

                                We wish them every success.
